Tanya's Wedding

Friday, May 21st my dear friend Tanya was married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple and she invited me to be apart of that special day. I love you, Tanya! And I wish you all the happiness in the world.

New day, new discoveries

GOKU!!!
(post nap hair, always awesome)

Jonah found that odd little spot in our stairway railing and decided it's the perfect spot to crawl through. Uh-Oh. He was running a slight fever today, so I'm a little surprised he was adventurous. Tylenol and naps took care of that though. Here's a video and some pics of his escapade.

Weaning, day five

Happy Mother's Day!!
(flowers courtesy of Derek)

It's hard on the weekends, because I want Derek's sleep to be as uninterrupted as possible, so I just give in. Which isn't nice to Jonah. Last night went really well though. He woke up about 4 times and I got him to sleep without nursing for half of them.

1:15 AM
6:30 AM
The only times I did nurse

One great thing that happened over the last 2 days! Jonah went back to sleep in his crib, for at least the first hour or so of bed. Which doesn't sound like much, but when he's been refusing the last few weeks, it's huge! Yay!

Night weaning, day one

I feel like I should document it, just to show that it does work sometimes, so that on the days that it doesn't, I have proof!
Last night was really day one of getting Jonah to sleep through the night. Of course I'm not going to quit him cold turkey, so he woke up to nurse at:

10-ish &
4-ish

And then again this morning at 6 when he thought he might like to wake up, but I gave him another quick snack so I could sleep in longer :)
I'm very happy. He usually wakes me up every 2-3 hours and it's much easier for me to give in when I'm tired and lift up my shirt. He doesn't need it, he just expects it. So I am going to try my darndest to stop it. And just so you know, he had to work really hard to get both of those feedings last night! But a binky just wouldn't cut it and I didn't want to fight with him for too long.

Pretty good for day one, but I know that over the next couple weeks he's just gonna fight harder and I'm gonna have to hold strong! So wish me luck!

Happenings

I know it's been a while since I posted, but I have some stuff to show you!

Saturday was a busy day! I had 2 showers to go to, had to run errands, so when I got home I was pretty ready to just relax. And this is what happens when we're not paying attention...

Jonah's toilet adventures! Do you see what that is? It's a sock.
He also had a Hannah Montana book that I had bought for my niece
thrown in there too, but there's no photographic evidence.

It's funny. When this happened, Derek was laughing so hard and loving it! It was the first time, so we had to take evidence of it, but hopefully this won't be a reoccurring thing.

Also, there is food! I made chicken fried chicken and waffles last night! So good!

I only had tenderloins, not breasts, they were just smaller, which is actually perfect.
Cooks faster, makes smaller portions, but more food!
